HB 1365 was heard and passed in the House Health and Wellness Committee. However, it was not scheduled for a hearing in Appropriations and therefore is dead. However, funding for the screens was included in the House and Senate budgets. See SB 5317.

HB 1365 adopts the bright futures guidelines of universal screening of children for autism and developmental delays, issued by the American academy of pediatrics, to improve early diagnosis and early intervention with appropriate therapies and services for children receiving Medicaid's Apple Health for Kids.

Effective January 1, 2016, requiring universal screening and provider payment for autism and developmental delays recommended by the bright futures guidelines is subject to the availability of funds.
