Although HB 2585 did not come up for a vote in the Senate prior to the March 7th cutoff, it did come up on the last day of session, in fact was one of the last bills passed! Because it had not been amended, it did not have to go back to the House for concurrence and was signed by the Governor.

HB 2585 authorizes the Department of Social and Health Services to exempt fifty percent of a caregiver's unearned income in determining temporary assistance for needy (TANF) families' eligibility and benefit standards. In the context of the bill, "unearned income" means income received from a source other than employment or self-employment.
