SB 5388 directs the Dept. of Social and Health Services to pass through child support that does not exceed $100 per month collected on behalf of a family, or in the case of a family that includes two or more children, an amount that is not more than $200 per month.
Additionally, the bill states that any person or entity doing business in the state of WA who is required to file a report to the IRS for services received from an independent contractor must report to the WA State Support Registry the hiring of any independent contractor they will be paying compensation. Penalties are associated with not reporting this information.
Further, SB 5388 establishes a gambling payment intercept program that would withhold payments from winning players who owe past due child support.
