SB 6327 expands the categories of offenses eligible for the parenting program with the Department of Corrections, adding the word 'serious' in front of violent offense -- which means that the offender is eligible for the parenting sentencing alternative if, among several other criteria, he/she has no prior or current conviction for a felony that is a sex offense or serious violent offense.
